When state budget cuts were directly affecting the programming and residential services of my 40-year-old autistic brother Daniel, I was compelled to find a way to help. 

Reflecting upon the joy he finds in food, I created Doors Open Dishes, an organization providing financial support to the workshops and residences of individuals with disabilities by partnering with chefs and restaurants to create menu items inspired by these individuals.
